Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her parents were an aunt who worked as a housewife and a father who was a teacher. Michael Dennis Kevin, her twin brothers. Beginning at a very early stage of life, McCormick was a singer and dance, and she would frequently put on puppet shows for kids in the community. She was crowned the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 and was then contacted through Pat Domigan, a talent agent of the Jack Wormser Agency. He was interested in her desire to work in the show business. McCormick had her first significant role when she got a part in the 1964 television commercial of Mattels latest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. The following year she starred as Chatty Cathy in a commercial before being cast in the show Wind It Up and It's Breaks by the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was selected out of a crowd of over 1500 children who had auditioned to play the eldest of three towheaded girls on the brand new TV sitcom The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. The show lasted five seasons. McCormick wrote in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published in 2008, McCormick revealed how during the 5th season of the television show, she nearly lost her the love of her life to her brother Barry Williams. He was just 19. She was 16. It could have been according to her. However, the timing for our relationship was not the right one.
